What are Ayurvedic consults?

An Ayurvedic consult is a session with an Ayurvedic practitioner to receive personalized guidance on how to improve and maintain your health and well-being according to the principles of Ayurveda. Ayurveda is a traditional system of medicine that originated in India thousands of years ago, and its focus is on balancing the body, mind, and spirit to achieve optimal health.

During an Ayurvedic consult, the practitioner will assess your unique constitution or "dosha" and identify any imbalances that may be contributing to health concerns or issues. The practitioner will then recommend personalized dietary and lifestyle changes, herbal remedies, and other Ayurvedic therapies to help restore balance and improve your overall health. The length and format of an Ayurvedic consult can vary depending on the practitioner and the specific needs of the individual seeking treatment. Some consultations may be conducted in person, while others may be done online or over the phone.

What is Nadi Pariksha/Pulse diagnosis?

Nadi Pariksha, also known as Pulse Diagnosis, is an ancient Ayurvedic technique used to diagnose the physical and psychological conditions of a person by assessing the pulse. In Ayurveda, the pulse is considered to be an important indicator of the overall health of an individual, and Nadi Pariksha helps in identifying any imbalances or disturbances in the body.

During Nadi Pariksha, the practitioner places the index, middle and ring fingers on the radial artery of the wrist, and reads the pulse to determine the strength, rhythm, and quality of the pulse. By assessing the pulse, the practitioner can identify the state of the three doshas, Vata, Pitta and Kapha, which are the fundamental energies that govern all biological, psychological and physiological functions in the body.

Nadi Pariksha is a non-invasive and safe diagnostic technique, and can provide valuable insights into the health of an individual, including any potential health risks and imbalances. It is often used as a complementary approach to modern diagnostic methods to provide a holistic understanding of a person's health.
